Eric Eisele Receives President's Green Award for Graduating Seniors

Graduating senior Eric Eisele has been awarded the President's Green Award for Graduating Seniors.  As a student leader, Eric was honored with this award for his involvement with a number of sustainable outreach initiatives at Drexel, his work as a co-founder of Drexel Smart House, and for receiving a $75,000 EPA grant for his team's senior design research.

Eric's service to the university in the area of sustainability is extensive.  In 2007, he started an outreach program with the Science Leadership Academy in Center City Philadelphia, which brings academy students to Drexel's labs weekly to learn about sustainability related research and technology. The program will continue and expand in the 2009-2010 academic year.  Eric has also worked with CANDU (Community Alumni Network at Drexel University) for the last two years, performing community service projects throughout Philadelphia. This fall, participants will be renovating the Morton McMichael elementary school in Mantua to have more green space and improved classroom conditions. Additionally, Eric was involved in the formation of the Drexel Green Sustainability Initiative.

Eric was recently acknowledged with a Drexel University Student Leader of the Year Award for his work with Drexel Smart House.
