Marjorie Austero Receives Scholarship and Summer School Acceptance

 Marjorie Austero, pictured with her Food Science advisor, A. Philip Handel, receives the 2010 Philadelphia Regional Section Institute of Food Technologists Scholarship.

Ph.D. student in MSE/M.S. student in Food Science Marjorie Austero (advisors:  Caroline Schauer (MSE) and A. Philip Handel (Food Science)) is a recipient of a 2010 Philadelphia Regional Section Institute of Food Technologists $1,500 Scholarship.  The scholarship program helps to “promote the advancement of Food Science/Technology or other closely related fields.” Marjorie was recognized at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 4, 2010.

Additionally, Marjorie has been accepted to the American Chemical Society (ACS) Summer School on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Energy.  The program will take place July 21-29, 2010 at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO.
