GAANN BIOMSE: Innovative Biomaterials Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering has a need-based fellowship program for qualified students pursuing their Ph.D. GAANN BIOMSE: Innovative Biomaterials sponsored by the Department of Education provides need-based graduate fellowships in the field of materials science and engineering with a focus on biomaterials. This GAANN program is targeted at providing education for the next generation of scientists and engineers who will be trained in materials science and engineering with a focus on synthetic biomaterials for medical devices, drug delivery for controlled release of pharmaceuticals, molecular engineering for tissue restoration, and tissue scaffolds for 3-D cellular engineering.

Applying for a GAANN BIOMSE fellowship? Use this checklist:

  1. Verify your eligibility to receive the GAANN fellowship
  2. Apply to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering Ph.D. program through Drexel's online application process.
  3. Apply for GAANN BIOMSE by March 15th. Depending upon funds, applications may be considered after the deadline. If the deadline has passed, please contact us prior to applying.
  4. Fill out a FAFSA online by March 15th.
  5. Please consult with Dorilona Rose prior to accepting any loans.
